The job of the Olmsted County Attorney is not only to promote justice and public safety, but to also support victims of crimes and our most vulnerable citizens. That is what Mark Ostrem has done for citizens of Olmsted County since 2007 and he plans to continue his tireless work to support our community.
Community Support Guided by Experience
While Mark has acted as Olmsted County Attorney since 2007, his experience expands beyond his official position. To provide comprehensive support to our community, Mark also became involved in the Minnesota County Attorneys Association (MCAA), joining the Board of Directors in 2009 and becoming President in 2016. As a part of the MCAA, Mark worked to improve the quality of justice statewide.
One of Mark’s chief focuses has been supporting victims of crimes and vulnerable people in the community. As part of this effort, Mark became a member of the Safe Harbor Legislation work group which helped to protect Minnesota youth from sexual exploitation and levy harsher punishments against commercial sex abusers.
